Pupil Premium

Pupil premium grants provide school level funding, designed to improve the academic outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap.

Although schools are free to spend Pupil Premium as they see fit, they are required by the Government to publish information on how we use this money.  Please see attached for information on the planned expenditure and impact during this academic year.

This money is allocated to initiatives to ensure pupils reach their full potential, both academically and socially.

Free School Meals

Your child may be eligible for income related free school meals – and accordingly pupil premium – if you receive any of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit with no earned income or with net monthly earnings less than the government threshold
  • Income Support
  • Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income related Employment Support Allowance
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit  – as long as you have a yearly household income of less than the current government threshold (as assessed by HM Revenue and Customs) and do not get Working Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit run-on (paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

If your child qualifies for free school meals, it’s important that you let us know – even if they take a packed lunch – as this enables us to claim pupil premium.

From September 2014, all children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 qualified for Universal Free School Meals, regardless of their family income, but only the children who would have qualified for free meals under the above income-based criteria will receive the pupil premium.

Reporting It will be the responsibility of the Executive Headteacher, or a delegated member of staff to produce regular reports to the governing body.

At Clutton, additional services include enrichment activities and intervention programmes. In our useful information section, you will find our pupil premium statement for the current academic year.
